Yougler Internet Profiles.
Yougler members can create personalized Internet Profiles. A Yougler Internet Profile is a simple web page with the URL built from the Yougler user’s profile name. For example, one of my Yougler Profiles is yougler.com/pete where “pete” is one of my Yougler profile names. You are encouraged to have multiple Yougler Internet profiles.
Yougler Internet Profiles come with a contact page that includes a mail forward. As discussed in an earlier post this mail forward allows others to contact you without exposing your email address to spammers, so a Yougler Profile page forwards spam-free email.
As stated above, your Yougler profile page is in fact a URL that you can give out or post on the Internet as you would an email address. The beauty of this is the fact that giving out your Internet Profile’s URL won’t generate unwanted junk mail AND your Yougler Internet Profile page can be tailored to fit very specific uses.
You can have different Yougler Profile pages for business and personal use, multiple web pages, favorite blogs, or forums, different projects or activities, friends, school, social networking sites… the possibilities are endless. With each Internet profile you can provide as much or as little information as you like. You can present a different “you” depending upon where you are or what you are doing.
All of these Yougler Internet Profile pages can be set up to forward any contacts from all your profiles to a single private email address. This makes Internet networking much easier and with spam-free email.
For example, I have a Yougler Internet Profile page for each of my web sites, each of my blogs, and each of my businesses. I also have a personal one. If I were into social networking I would have a profile for each site I used. If I were active in online discussion of politics , I would have one for that. If I were meeting new people socially online or out on the town I would have one for that.
Why have so many? Because you can make each profile fit a specific use. For example, if I were a political junkie who liked to read and comment on political blogs I would create an Internet profile just for that. It would include some of my views and my credentials. This way if others want to know about me or my qualifications on the subject matter I am commenting on, they can view my profile with a simple click. Same thing with business or professional stuff. I would include information pertaining to that business and leave my personal stuff out. I can also create different contact information for each Internet profile or leave that out altogether. If I want people to be able to contact me but not know anything about me, not even my email address, I can create a profile that will do that.
Yougler lets you manage all of your Internet profiles for a given email address on a single page in the mail room. In the mail room you can easily switch between profiles and then read, respond , or delete your messages. One last thing. Your Yougler Internet Profile page is served up and indexed (crawled) by search engines. This way if someone wants to contact you your profile page is easily found in searches. Pretty cool! But that discussion is for another post.
