True success is a balance between itself and failure. If you never fail you never learn. That is a fact about life. Things that come too easy are unappreciated and overlooked. Only if you fail many times trying to achieve your goal do you really appreciate what it took to get get there.
Hypothetically, what if what you wanted to achieve was done successfully on the first try? Is that not success? Yes and no but mostly no. For example, say you wanted to build a website and make money. Somehow you wrote the code perfectly the first time. Not only that but what you offered the first time was readily bought by your customers who just appeared at your cyber-door one day with money in hand. Sounds great doesn’t it. Bill Gates one day decided he wanted to sell software and then BANG there was Microsoft.
Then one day the code stops working or the customers don’t show up or they don’t want what you have for sale. What do you do? If you didn’t work to get there you wouldn’t know.
But in reality it is not possible to be successful on the first try if you are on your own. Success is found only by first being lost in a forest of failures and then finding your own way out. True, some may never find the path to their success but I believe that no one truly succeeds without being lost first.
