Making progress doesn’t make sense without some goals in mind so here they are.

Yougler Website Goals:

  • Short term goal……….500 users, 2k daily page views, 10k inbound links, top 500k web site ranking
  • Medium term goal….1k users, 10k daily page views, 20k inbound links, top 100k web site ranking
  • Long term goal……….10k users, 50k daily page views, 100k inbound links, top 10k web site ranking

Obviously I need to grow my users base but what is a more important measure of success is the daily page views and to a lesser extent the number of inbound page links. If the users don’t use the site there is little added value by increasing user numbers. That said, the new users need to be quality users….. like bloggers.

I have just recently targeted getting bloggers having realized that the quality of my user base was poor. Now, I basically have users who sign up but never use the site. To this end I created a Yougler WordPress plugin that bloggers can use. Having done that about ten days ago I then updated an ad to advertise the new plugin I have on Daily Blog Tips and I did a press release with PRWeb Tuesday of this week. So far I have 29 plugin downloads and 1 new user who is a blogger. Progress is slow.

One other reason for targeting bloggers with the Yougler plugin. Besides being quality users than can also promote the plugin to their readers.. if they like it.
